Sun, rain... and repeat seems to kinda be how it is with the weather, here in East London at the moment. One minute we are removing the layers and slipping into our summer sandals. The next, it's back on with the Rains jacket. Not that we mind too much, as new season colours and styles of the amazing Danish designed raincoats are hitting the shop floor daily, here at Mercantile. We all have our eye on the high summer silver versions, that we just know will be our new luxe neutral and be thrown over everything, all summer long.
Seeing as we have such a large selection here in store, we thought we'd give a quick run down of the styles and the specialist technology behind their wet weather superpowers. You can stand under our umbrella, (ella, ella, sorry we know...) but believe us you really don't need to with these babies.
The CURVE JACKET is a modern interpretation of a classic trench coat. With a smarter, more work appropriate feel, it has a tapered fit and adjustable waist belt, resulting in an totally classic look.
As with all Rains models, the curve has:
The LONG JACKET has the same casual fit as the short, but a longer mid-length. This is the classic universal long rain jacket for everyday use. We seem to be selling these to a lot of cyclists and television crew members.
The SHORT JACKET style is a modern interpretation of the classic rain jacket. The light-weight fabric makes it super comfortable to wear and practical to carry around or roll up into a small bag. The short has been flying out in our range of bright colour pops, so if you are looking for that festival cover up that will still work in your wardrobe beyond that wild weekend, the short in yellow, blue or silver is the one for you.
The BOMBER is Rains modern interpretation of the classic bomber shape jacket. Combining heritage sportswear design with a modern cut, this is the unisex version, that will ensure that your basics are never boring. Lots of love for this from both Eb and Lisa. We are also loving the dual tone version now in store.
New for high summer, Rains has created a silver coloured rubber fabric, inspired by the moon. Using this fantastic colour on selected styles from their existing collection, we just know this will be a a winner over all that summer white.
Rains summer silver short jacket, coming soon.
