Each week we will be bringing you a 'hero' piece from The Mercantile autumn edit. These will be those pieces that we think are the hardest working in our wardrobe, the ones that give a twist to our basics but that won't date by the end of the season; basically the keepers.

First up the Samsoe & Samsoe daze boot in dove grey. A classic almond toe shape and low tapered heel combined with a textured oversize grain leather and off beat colour make these a winning combination, which we think will only get better with age.
