The brands mission is to combine fair working conditions and sustainable, high quality materials with beautiful design. Instead of chasing the latest trends they focus on modern, contemporary collections of great basic shapes, combined with colour and print. 

Eco is not just a trend for the company, it’s their belief that taking responsibility and protecting the environment is "not an option but a must". Therefore, they only use sustainable and regenerative materials such as organic cotton, organic linen, organic wool, recycled cotton, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and TENCEL™ Lyocell in their collections. To show that these are not just empty words, they have been GOTS certified since 2011.

It takes a lot of effort and time to produce clothes as many people are involved in the long process. ARMEDANGELS make sure that every single one of them works under fair conditions, no matter if they are a cotton farmer in India, a sewer in Turkey or a designer in Germany, and organisations like Fairtrade or Fair Wear Foundation help the company to implement this.

The cotton used in the collections comes from controlled organic cultivation and is fairly traded. They only use wool from certified organic livestock farming that is mulesing- and chlorine-free (Mulesing means the removal of skin from the tail area of a sheep – without giving them any painkillers). This is done in the attempt to prevent flystrike.

Organic livestock farming places high demands on animal welfare and ensures that animals are treated humanely. The organic raw wool is additionally RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified.

The collections use LENZING™ ECOVERO™ which is the most ecological and clean viscose that can be manufactured today, sourced from European woods and produced locally in Austria by ARMEDANGELS partner Lenzing. It gives a gentle flow to the fabric, that is pleasant to the skin and gives a piece of clothing a silky glow, so is perfect for dresses and blouses.

Cleaned and melted PET bottles are also spun into yarn (rPET) to be used in certain garments, but in order to control microfibre abrasion, ARMEDANGELS only  use rPET  as a fibre admixture which extends the life of the garment.

In order to maintain and provide clarity surrounding their low impact approach, ARMEDANGELS work with GOTS, Fairwear Foundation, Fairtrade Organisation, and Peta.
