October 03 2017 – Mercantile London
New to The Mercantile, Antwerp based knitwear brand Howlin’ has been producing quality knitwear in Scotland since 2009. The two brothers are part of a four strong design team and have come from a family knitwear dynasty that produced traditional knits including cable and Fair Isle in Scotland.
The approach to manufacturing remains staunchly traditional but Howlin' offers “more room for fantasy in shape and pattern”. Being avid music collectors, influences from their music collections appear in style names and the brand is supported by bands such as Tame Impala and Blood Red Shoes.
Quality, local yarns and 'made with care', are the ethos of the brand and all the products are manufactured and hand finished by traditionally skilled craftsmen in either Scotland or Ireland. Currently flying out of store are the pastel lambswool King Jammy hat in mint and confetti and the Toto colour block infinity sweater.
