Established in London in 2007 by Amanda and Kirstine, Star Mela was born through a mutual love of fashion, travel and a mission to produce easy to wear summer essentials and accessories at affordable price points.
Taking inspiration from around the globe, each Star Mela collection is a celebration of traditional handicrafts. Beach dresses, cotton kaftans, easy jumpsuits, tote bags, throw on jackets, pretty camisoles and sandals come embellished with print, bead work and embroidery techniques such as Aari, Chikankari, Kantha,Shisha, and Banjara. Such intricacies mean that styles are produced in small quantities and ensures that each and every piece has a look of its own unique look and feel.
Creating effortlessly sun-ready apparel that can be thrown into a suitcase at a moments notice, Star Mela designs are realised in natural fabrics with natural dyes. Feel good fashion in every sense, each Star Mela collection is a collaboration between the designers and the crafts people that produce it.
The Summer 19 collection was inspired by the beautiful embroideries they found on their journey through Rajastan, India and consists of the easy to wear Scout jumpsuit and casual summer tops with subtle lurex detail like Ora and Kira, which are perfect with loose summer denim.
