Do you remember a time before skinny jeans, then Kate Moss became a poster child for a super skinny fit and it just kind of happened. We were converted to that super comfortable stretch and left wondering what we ever wore before. Yet the tide is turning once again and lately the question being asked most on the shop floor is "how do I move on from skinny denim".
With this in mind we are seeing the appearance of an old school anti-fit. Inspired by vintage Levi's® jeans, these shapes hug the waist and hips, and reward you for breaking in that non-stretch denim with a bit of 'hold' around the rear, along with a loose straight leg. If you remember them the first time around, as we do, don't panic as the comfort factor is much higher than the original rigid denims and the fit has evolved to a more contemporary, flattering silhouette.
You can draw on vintage styling however, such as Debbie Harry in her iconic double denim or Drew Barrymoore as the ultimate nineties reference. Wear cropped with a raw hem or as you like with a cuff or roll.
