Adding to the mix of menswear at The Mercantile, Toka Toka, the label from French designer Vincent Tokatlian, has arrived for Summer 19.

Born and raised in Marseilles, Vincent worked in the fashion industry firstly as a pattern cutter and then in production for various brands including Carven before Toka Toka (his childhood nickname) naturally evolved in 2014.

With production in Portugal and fabrics from Japan, France, England, Italy and Spain Toka Toka is a collection of high quality basics with a subtle twist. Vincent draws on the idea of easy wear pieces that will be a pleasure to wear. With efficient cuts, soft textures and a strong attention to detail  the summer collection draws on elements of being a tourist in your own city, with the possibility of discovering ‘newness’ in the familiar.

Work wear shapes are re-imagined in contemporary fabrics yet retain the more substantial weight that can be found in vintage. Pieces are designed to be layered and the colour palette can be extended into the new season with neutral additions.
